Announcing, Asbury Carbons has received approval from the EPA to introduce their novel Edge-Oxidized Graphene (EOG) into commercial applications. EOG, also known as Edge-Functionalized Graphene (EFG), is a form of graphene that provides the processability of graphene oxides with the performance of graphene. This few-layer, lightly oxidized graphene is made through a patented mechano-chemical process resulting in a cost-efficient, high-performing material at an industrial scale. EFG has shown multiple benefits to composite, coating, additive, and speciality material markets. Asbury Carbons has the immediate capacity to provide high-volume quantities (metric tons) of EFG, which can be available in the form of active powder, dispersions (aqueous and solvent) and polymer masterbatches.Asbury Carbons is a technical-driven, growth-oriented, advanced materials company that can do more than supply raw materials. Our personnel and facilities are capable of working jointly with OEM customers to speed up their go-to-market timeline. Asbury’s R&D staff includes PhD-level chemical formulators, polymer scientists, chemical engineers and materials scientists. In addition to our highly capable technologists, Asbury Carbons is bringing online a new 17,000-square-foot facility in South Plainfield, New Jersey to complement its existing R&D center in Asbury, New Jersey. This site will continue to enhance our technology development platform. Please contact Dr. Daniel Tsai, VP of Business Development at [email protected] for further information. We are open to exploring any collaboration in high-volume applications requiring improved mechanical strength, barrier properties, flame retardancy, thermal/electricity management, flame retardancy and anti-corrosive properties in both masterbatch and slurry forms.
